Letter: Salvation Army - Your help made such a difference

Pat Clark has thanked all volunteers and supporters of Ripon Salvation Army.
Pat Clark has thanked all volunteers and supporters of Ripon Salvation Army.

Ripon Salvation Army would like to thank the organisations and individuals who have helped financially and in other ways over the Christmas period.

The people involved are too many to mention by name.

Before Christmas collectors stood with tins in various supermarkets and town centres – this year the amount collected was exceptional.

Later, in the run-up to Christmas there were offers of food, toys and gifts for adults as well as cash donations.

All of this was put to good use for the community.

More than 60 families were provided with a food parcel and a sack of presents for all the family members.

On Christmas Day 65 people sat down to Christmas dinner at the Reach-Out Centre.

All of this was made possible through the generosity of the general public and the work put in by good-hearted volunteers.

Once again – thank you.

The Reach-Out Centre has resumed the regular community programme and all are welcome at the many activities and Sunday worship.
