Church services: there will be communion by extension with Adrian Roberts at 10.30am on Sunday in St Andrew’s church. Spotlights, the children’s Sunday club, will also meet at that time. At 4pm there will be creative worship, led by the Rev Caroline Falkingham and Liz Jarvis, in the primary school. The mid week communion service will be at 10.30am on Wednesday.

Chapel service: Kirkby Malzeard Methodist church’s congregation will make their own arrangements for Sunday worship. It begins at 10.30am.

Cream Tea: served at the Methodist church, Main Street, Kirkby Malzeard from 3-5pm on Saturday. Everyone is welcome. Please come along. The proceeds are for church funds.

Tea@3: Tea@ 3, organised by Kirkby Malzeard WI members, takes place from 2-4pm on Wednesday, June 19 in the mechanics’ institute. In addition to tea there will be cake, card, plant, bric-a-brac and book stalls and a hamper raffle. This event is to raise funds for Saint Michael’s Hospice in Harrogate.

First response: meeting in the mechanics’ institute at 6pm on Thursday, June 20 for first response team volunteers.

Yorkshire Air Ambulance: cake stall held on the Highside playing field at the 10k Run raised £188 to add to the £387.25 from the one held at the May Fair making a final total of £575.25 to be forwarded to Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Meeting: Members of Kirkby Malzeard, Laverton and Dallowgill parish council meet in the mechanics’ institute at 7.15pm on Monday, June 24. Agenda items must be with the clerk by 9am on Monday, June17.

Aldfield - Church service: at St Lawrence’s Church on Sunday is Evensong (BCP). It will be led by Nina Harrison.

Dallowgill - Chapel service: no service on Sunday at Dallowgill chapel.

Church service: The Rev Caroline Falkingham with Liz Jarvis will celebrate the Eucharist at 9am on Sunday at the Chapel of the Resurrection.

Galphay - Highside Folk dance club: will be held in the village institute from 8-10pm on Thursday, June 20 when the band will be Spile Tappers and Tony Whitehead will be the caller. The charge is £3 for adults and 50p for children.

Grantley - Dance: Danelaws will play for the next dance at the village hall. It will be held from 8pm to midnight on Saturday. There will be a raffle and refreshments will be served.

Winksley cum Grantley: Young Farmers’ club members meet in the village hall on Wednesday, June 26.

Sawley - Church service: no service on Sunday in the Church of St Michael and All Angels.

Chapel service: The Rev Susan Richardson will lead the family service at 6.30pm on Sunday in Sawley chapel.

Afternoon tea: will be served in the village hall from 2pm on Friday, June 28.

Winksley - Church service: The Rev Caroline Falkingham will celebrate the Eucharist at 10.30am on Sunday in the Church of Ss Cuthbert and Oswald.
