It's here! Zombies & more for new Harrogate Film Festival!

Movie fans have the chance to watch a classic horror film in a bar full of 'rea;'zombies when the first Harrogate Film Festival is launched tomorrow night, Friday.

The first screening of this new festival is the comedy-horror classic Shaun of the Dead inside the Hales Bar surrounding by real zombies tomorrow, Friday at 6.30pm.That's followed at 7pm by a gala opening screening of Academy Award-winning Gravity starring George Clooney and Sandra Bullock in Harrogate’s Crown Hotel.The new festival’s founder, Adam Chandler of Harrogate-based Reel Film, said the festival was as much about exciting collaborations with local businesses and filmmakers as exciting movies.In total, the festival has 15 business sponsors with Raworths Solicitors and Everyman Cinema being the two main sponsors.But movie fans will be more excited by the line-up of ‘Experience’ screenings of classic films in unusual location which includes the following:A Kids screening of Toy Story at Ashville College’s new state of the art facility (Saturday, noon).Night at the Museum inside Royal Pump Room Museum complete with period costumes (Saturday, 5.30pm).British Cinema Showcase at the Crown Hotel (Sunday, 11am).Brian De Palma’s modern gangster classic Scarface inside Revolucion de Cuba bar-restaurant (Sunday, 4pm).Finally, after three pulsating days, the first Harrogate Film Festival will wrap up on Sunday night with an awards ceremony at the Crown Hotel.
