Jimmy Carr and the tales of master horror writer HP Lovecraft will create smiles and shivers up your back in Harrogate Theatre's brand news season.
The theatre this week launches its Autumn/Winter programme which covers a huge variety of events at both Harrogate Theatre and the Royal Hall in Harrogate.
There will be comedy stars galore at the annual Harrogate Comedy Festiva but there's also a spooky theme going on with a new production of Frankenstein, ghost stories for Christmas and a couple of adaptations of HP Lovecraft.
It promises to be a jam-packed and exciting season with, comedy, music, opera, ballet and more, not forgetting the festive blockbuster that is Harrogate Theatre's annual family-friendly pantomime which, this year, is Dick Whittington.
The comedy highlight is sure to be Jimmy Carr who will be returning to the town on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at the Royal Hall
The eighth annual Harrogate Comedy Festival runs from October 1-16 with top names including
Ross Noble, Russell KaneMarcus Brigstocke, Rich Hall, Andrew Lawrence, Shappi Khorsandi, Hans Teeuwen, Jason Byrne, Jo Caulfield, Mark Watson and more.
The theatre's Studio Theatre often hosts emerging artists and new work as well as giving you the opportunity to get up close and in amongst the action.
This season it will be presenting have The Trials of Galileo, The Book of Darkness & Light and not one but two Lovecrafts - At The Mountains of Madness and Polaris.
Harrogate Theatre has been getting involved increasingly in new drama and this autumn will see the Dare Devil Rides to Jarama.
A joint presentation between Townsend Productions and Harrogate Theatre set in Spanish Civil War mixing powerful drama with songs and poetry, the production has been newly commissioned by The International Brigades Memorial Trust.
Music fans will be catered for at the Royal Hall and Harrogate Theatre by some of the best artists and tribute bands around.

Classical music aficianodos and opera fans can look forward to Bizet's Carmen next month presented by Russian State Opera to the Royal Hall.
October sees ballet and opera with Swan Lake at the Royal Hall, and English Touring Opera's Ulysses Homecoming & La Calisto at Harrogate Theatre.
November sees Russian State Ballet bringing Sleeping Beauty to the Royal Hall.
