A Harrogate doctors practice has launched a new set-up to allow its patients to have a say in how their GPs develop the service.
The restructured Patients Participation Group at Dr Moss and Partners will involve all three of their medical centres in Kings Road, Jennyfield and Killinghall.
The aim is to encourage collaboration between GPs, staff and patients across the practice.
The chairman of Patients Participation Group, Philippa Bogle, who is a patient herself, said she was trying to encourage as many fellow patients as possible to have their say.
Philippa said: “The practice is very committed to encouraging as many patients as possible to take part, when they can.
“It’s been proved by the National Association for Patient Participation that these groups can bring significant benefits to GP Practices.
“Services can be potentially improved, costs reduced, and resources used more efficiently, all through developing a mutually supportive network outside the GP or nurse appointment system.”
The group is continuing to hold local face-to-face meetings once a quarter, where information is shared, changes discussed and ideas put forward.
The practice’s website will also form a key part in how the group communicates and develops.
The next Patients Participation meeting for Kings Road, Harrogate, Jennyfield Health Centre, and Killinghall Medical Centre will take place on Thursday, June 8 at 4.45pm at Westcliffe Hall, part of the Kairos Church in Harrogate.
Any registered patients who are interested in taking part in Patients Participation Group, or would like to know more, should email HARDCCG.Moss-PPG@nhs.net
In order to involve young patients across the three sites, the practice is also holding an Easter competition for different age groups, with prizes of chocolate Easter eggs. .

The closing date is April 24.
