Communities across the district will attend services and parades for Remembrance Sunday on November 10.
Businesses and schools will then observe a two-minute silence on Monday to mark Armistice Day.
Events are planned at War Memorials and churches across North Yorkshire.
Sunday, November 10:
8.30am: Holy Communion at Aldborough
9am: The Nidderdale group of the Long Walkers Association will walk 12 miles from Kettlewell and join the Army Cadet Corps for a Remembrance Service at Buckden Pike Memorial
9.30am: A service will start at 9.30am at St John’s Parish Church in Knaresborough, followed by a parade through the town, and arriving at the War Memorial for a two minute silence at 11am; Remembrance Service at St Philip’s Church, Scholes, followed by a parade to the War Memorial
9.45am: In Boroughbridge, a service will be held at St James Church at 9.45am followed by a parade to the war memorial on Hall Square for a short service of dedication, reading of the names fallen and wreath laying at 11am
10am: Remembrance service at St Thomas the Apostle, Killinghall
10.15am: Dunsforh Remembrance Service; Act of Remembrance at Scholes War Memorial;
10.30am: Remembrance Day service at St Chad’s, Middlesmoor; service at the Church of St Cuthbert and Oswald, Winksley; Wetherby Remembrance Day Parade – March from the Town Hall
10.45am: Act of Remembrance at All Saint’s Church, Ripley Sunday; Remembrance Service at Collingham Memorial Hall
10.55am: Royal British Legion and Uniformed Organisations parade from Jack Heap’s Field to War Memorial in Barwick
11am: Service of Remembrance at Harrogate War Memorial; Remembrance Service at Ripon’s Spa Gardens; Act of Remembrance at Barwick War Memorial
11.15am: Remembrance service at All Saints’ Church, Barwick
11.40am: The 21 Engineers will march through Ripon city centre to the cathedral where a service will be held, from 11.40am - 12.45pm
12 noon: Remembrance Service at East Keswick War Memorial
1pm: The Rotary Club of Harrogate Brigantes’ Service of Remembrance will take place at Stonefall Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery
3pm: Remembrance Day parade and service at Starbeck War Memorial
4pm: Creative worship for Remembrance day with the Rev Caroline Falkingham and Liz Jarvis at Kirkby Malzeard Primary School
A Remembrance Sunday parade will take place in Tadcaster. Led by Golden Rail brass band, participants will include members of the Tadcaster branch of the Royal British Legion, the RAF Association, the Police and Fire & Rescue Service, and the Scouts and Guides. The parade ends with the laying of wreaths at the War Memorial, the two minutes silence, and the ceremonial march-past.
Monday, November 11:
10.30am: A parade will form at the Nidderdale Agricultural Society showground car park at 10.30am and reach Pateley Bridge War Memorial at 11am; Service at Lister House, Ripon
