Harrogate council invites public to 'Ask the Cabinet' next week (July 28)

The public will get the chance to put Harrogate Borough Council's Cabinet to the test at the first '˜Ask the Cabinet' event next week at the HIC.

The first event of its kind will take place on Thursday, July 28 - and not July 21 as appeared in this week's Harrogate Advertiser - so make a date in your diary.

The initiative is the first in an annual programme of events where residents can attend an open meeting and put their questions to the Cabinet.

Members of the public will be able to ask questions on topics ranging from housing to household and council tax to car parks.

The meeting will take place on Thursday at 6pm in the Queen’s Suite at Harrogate International Centre.

‘Ask the Cabinet’ with be chaired by Council Leader, Coun Richard Cooper, and will also include the Council’s Chief Executive, Wallace Sampson. The full Cabinet will also be there to answer questions.

Coun Cooper said: “As councillors we are here to be accountable; not hidden away from residents.

“I am also keen that people have the opportunity to see the wider picture of all the services the council offers.”

The event is open to anybody to ask any question they wish about any issue for which HBC is responsible for, or for which it can influence others.
