An independent Harrogate shop which has teamed up with Harrogate Homeless Project is calling on retailers in the town to work together more in the common good
Sara Shaw, owner of Violet womenswear boutique on Cheltenham Mount, said the success of the store’s sweatshirts for the Harrogate Homeless Project was a signpost for the future.
She said: “ We are thrilled that our customers have supported our initiative by buying our exclusive HGTE sweatshirts and bags.
“We have been bowled over with the support offered by other business owners and there is truly an amazing network of hard working individuals in the town bringing diversity and interest to Harrogate which is so important in bringing visitors to the town. “
Since launching Violet last November, Sara, a former bank manager, has tried to combine style with ethics. She recently presented a cheque for £500 raised by sales of the ethically-produced organic cotton sweatshirts and bags.
