Grewelthorpe Parish Council Report: the meeting was held on Wednesday, March 27 when four members of the public attended. Twelve reports were read out from a wide range of interest groups that are run in Grewelthorpe, councillors were very pleased to hear of successful organisations and wished them all future success.

The normal parish council meeting followed the annual parish meeting. Martin Dobson has been litter picking in Grewelthorpe for a number of years, unfortunately Mr Dobson is unable to continue this task due to ill health. Parish councillors are now looking for someone to take over this task together with emptying the dog bins on a weekly basis, there is a small remuneration for these jobs. Please contact the parish clerk if you are able to help.

Councillors are concerned once again at the amount of dog fouling around the village, due to a few very thoughtless dog owners in the village who really couldn’t care less. Dog fouling is totally unacceptable and residents are reminded to contact the dog warden on Harrogate 01423 556633 if any culprits are seen.

The dog bins will be removed due to a high cost of getting them emptied by HBC. Councillors request that dog owners take home their dog waste and put in their dustbin.

The date of the AGM is Wednesday, May 8, at 7pm in the Grewelthorpe School, followed by a parish council meeting. Please do come along to these meetings if at all possible.

A copy of the minutes from each parish council meeting can be seen on the Grewelthorpe website.

Grewelthorpe residents are welcome to attend any Parish Council meeting.
