Fans set to feel force as Harrogate cinemas unveil new Star Wars

Star Wars mania is about to grip Harrogate's two rival cinemas.

The release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story very late tomorrow, Thursday, will see both the Odeon and Everyman feeling the force with special screenings.

And don’t be surprised if some members of staff turn up dressed for the part.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is the first of the Star Wars stand-alone films to be released by Lucasfilm.

Queues of fans are expected to build up for this all-new epic adventure which sees English actress Felicity Jones playing Jyn Erso, a courageous, fugitive rebel who happens to be the daughter of Galen Erso, the brilliant scientist behind plans for the Empire’s terrifying new weapon, called the “Death Star”.

Both Harrogate cinemas will be unveiling the film at one minute past 12 as one of the year’s most anticipated movies fimally arrives on the big screen Everyman will be holding a special state-of-the-art Dolby Atmos screening and a 3D screening.

The Odeon, meanwhile, will strike back with 2D and 3D in at least three screens at 12.01pm, followed by more than 10 to15 showings a day over the next week at

least.
