The search for Hambleton’s youngest swimmer is on.
The Kirsten Trophy is awarded to the youngest child from the Hambleton district who is able to swim - or splash - a length of the main swimming pool at Thirsk and Sowerby Leisure Centre.
The only rule is that the swimmer must not have any help including flotation devices.
The annual trophy, first presented by Don and Christina Curry, encourages families to ensure children are taught how to swim safely.
Thirsk White Horse Swim Team manage the event which takes place on Saturday October 15 at 5pm.
Entrants from outside the district are welcomed but the trophy will only be awarded to the youngest Hambleton resident to successfully complete the distance.
