Ecstasy find pair face trial

TWO men are facing trial after police sniffer dogs uncovered 14,000 ecstasy tablets, with a street value of £28,000, following an accident in which a car overturned on the A1.

Harrogate magistrates on Tuesday sent two men from Tyneside for trial at York Crown Court where they will make an initial appearance on July 16.

Liam Bowes, 18, of Marley Hill, Newcastle, and Anthony Starforth, 23, of Low Fell, Gateshead, are charged jointly with possession of ecstasy with intent to supply at Kirby Hill, Boroughbridge. Bowes is also accused of possessing cocaine.

Bowes was remanded in custody and Starforth was allowed bail.
