Following the Olivier Award-winning The Weir, Andrea Dunbar’s semi-autobiographical play, Rita Sue And Bob Too will launch tomorrow, September 26 and run until September 30.

Set in Bradford, this vivid portrait of girls caught between brutal childhood and an unpromising future famously became a cult film in Thatcher's Britain in 1987. The play’s original director Max Stafford-Clark directs this major new production and will also host a post-show discussion on the opening nightRunning from September 29-30, Marching on Embers is a new play about how the violence of the recent Troubles in Northern Ireland effected two generations of one family.Presented by bold new theatre company Buglight, there’s a real feeling of reality about Chris O’Connor’s gripping and provocative script.Set in in post-Brexit Northern Ireland, this new play was was devised in collaboration with teenagers in the real community of Ballymena.Looking further ahead, taking place post-Comedy Festival from Thursday, October 19 to Sunday, October 22 will be Mobile by The Paper Birds – a site-specific piece taking the form of an intimate 40 minute theatre show in a caravan. The content of the show was developed from interviews across the UK and looks at climbing the social ladder and what we leave behind.
