Decade of student art celebrated

Over 400 A-level art students have displayed over 400 pieces of artwork at Harewood House over the last ten years, in a schools' partnership that has grown and flourished during that time.

Today, Thursday, at 6.45pm 200 people, including 91 pupils, will gather to celebrate the opening of the 10th annual collection.

Harewood House Trust Director, Jane Marriott, will officially open the Red Kite Alliance Art Exhibition and present the prizes for the highly commended and best in show pieces.

The partnership with local schools has grown from one school in 2008, Harrogate Grammar, to now showcasing and creating an important platform for budding young artists from across Leeds and Harrogate.

The artwork is professionally hung and displayed in The Education Suite at the Courtyard, and is free to those visiting the House and Gardens.
