A vandalism spree in Ripon has seen nearly 30 cars attacked and damaged on the same night.

The vandalism happened on the evening of Saturday, March 8, when at least 29 cars were damaged, Ripon police have said.

Cars parked on Southgate, Aismunderby Road, Wakeman Road, Holmefield Road, King Edward Road, Princess Royal Road, Quarry Moor Road and Clotherholme Road had their tyres slashed and bodywork scratched.

Sgt Alex Butterfield, of Ripon Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “If you have any information about those responsible for these acts of utterly mindless vandalism, I urge you to contact the police straight away.

“I am also keen to speak to anyone else who was the victim of a similar crime and has not yet reported it and ask them to get in touch.”
