HARROGATE ARMED ROBBERY UPDATES: Police carrying out ‘reassurance’ patrols
Staff at Montpellier Antiques were threatened with a machete and an axe by four masked robbers during a terrifying raid yesterday morning.
The robbers burst into Montpellier Antiques at around 11.40am before making off with high value jewellery.

Hide AdPolice have now tweeted they will be ‘conducting high visibility reassurance patrols’ following the incident which left staff shaken up.
Officers initally said that staff at the Montpellie Mews store were threatened with what they believed was a gun, however police later revealed the robbers actually used a machete and an axe.
Detective Chief Inspector Andrea Kell of North Yorkshire Police, said: “No-one was injured in the incident, however, the staff have been very shaken up by what happened. I am appealing to anyone who can assist the investigation to contact us as matter of urgency.”
The suspects fled the scene in a dark coloured Lexus with the registration number BG57 XTV which was found this afternoon.

Hide AdThe car used by four robbers after a terrifying raid at an antique store this morning has been found on Glebe Avenue in Harrogate.
Police are appealing to anyone in that area who saw the vehicle being abandoned or saw the suspects leave the scene, to contact them.
