Having being launched in late 2016 after success in Leeds, Souvaliki Restaurant Bar has now retreated back to its city base.

The heartfelt sign on its window at 5 Station Parade in Harrogate reads: "Dear Customers. We are sad to announce that our restaurant has officially shut down."

The original Souvlaki in Leeds, which is known for traditional Greek and Cypriot dishes with Med-style music and the occasional live Greek band, is still open at 18 Great George Street.

On the better news front, Harrogate fans of Greek and Mediterranean food can now look forward to the reopening soon of Papa's in its new premises in Harrogate.
