Carsten August Ludemann, 37, of Flat 3, 18 Palace Road, Ripon, was fined £100 for driving while under the influence of a controlled drug, tetrahydrocannabinol, on Cornwall Road, Harrogate. He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and costs of £40, and was disqualified from driving for three years.

Raymond Newlove, 55, of 16 York Place, Knaresborough, was given a 12-month community sentence for breaching a non-molestation order by contacting a woman on Instagram. He was ordered to carry out 60 hours of unpaid work and pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £60.

Yvonne Grayshon, 61, of 11 Cedar Close, Ripon, was given a six-month community order for failing to disclose a change in circumstances to the Department of Work and Pensions, and for failing to notify the DWP and Harrogate Borough Council that her capital had increased. She was fined £100 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £60 and costs of £85.

Patricia Stevens, 70, of 88 Wedderburn Road, Harrogate, was given a 12-month community order for failing to notify Harrogate Borough Council and the Department of Work and Pensions of a change in circumstances affecting her entitlement to housing benefit, council tax credit and pension credit. She was ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work and to pay a victim surcharge of £60 and costs of £85.

The following were dealt with at Harrogate Magistrates Court on April 28:

Jade Ashley Clarkson, 21, of 9 Elm Road, Ripon, was given a six-month conditional discharge for assaulting two police officers at Harrogate District Hospital. She was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £15 and costs of £85.

Paul Andrew Houlden, 53, of Flat 2, 24 Dragon Road, Harrogate, was ordered to be detained in the courthouse for damaging a canvas handbag worth £5. Magistrates deemed he had served his detention through the time already spent in the courthouse and did not impose any order for costs.

Kevin David Eastman, 23, of 32 Westholme Road, Masham, was given a 12-month conditional discharge for assaulting a man by beating him. He was ordered to carry out 40 hours of unpaid work and to pay a victim surcharge of £60 and costs of £85.

Liam Robert Wilson, 21, of 4 Mallard Close, Ripon, was given a 12-month community order for taking a Citroen Picasso in Southgate, Ripon, without the owner’s consent. He was ordered to complete a Thinking Skills programme and to pay a £50 fine, £60 victim surcharge and £85 costs. No separate penalty was imposed for driving without insurance or a licence, but eight points were added to his licence.
