The three-day annual Newby Hall dog show was hailed a huge success as thousands of dog-lovers from across Europe battled to win a place at the Crufts Grand Final in March.
This year’s show has seen competitors travel from as far as Belgium to show off their dogs in the show, which has been running for more than 150 years.
Friday’s event saw hounds, terriers and utility dogs take to the stage, Saturday was the turn of working and pastoral groups and Sunday showcased gun dogs and the toy groups.
The Darlington dog show used to be held at its original home in Darlington’s South Park, but moved to Ripon seven years ago due to restoration work.
This year’s competition has seen 29 additional dogs enter the show, bringing the total of dogs up to 7,181.
As a championship event, winners can now qualify for Crufts, the country’s biggest dog show.
