A 10-acre light industrial estate could be built on green fields west of Harrogate if a planning application submitted to Harrogate Borough Council is approved.

The site occupies a corner plot at the junction of Penny Pot Lane and Burley Bank Road, just opposite the entrance to the Army Foundation College.

The application was submitted on behalf of Teakwood Developments by estate agent Carter Jonas, which is joint agent with Fordy Marshall, and it is understood that interest has already been received from prospective occupiers.

Carter Jonas’ associate partner Chris Hartnell said: “This development should allow us to not only meet the pent up demand illustrated by the full occupancy of the nearby Saltergate Business Park, but also will allow Harrogate to retain and attract new jobs.”

Subject to receipt of planning permission new industrial units ranging from 1,000 to 20,000 sq ft could be available on both a freehold or leasehold basis during the course of 2019.
