A bespoke furniture specialist which has stores nationwide including on the King’s Road in London has chosen the Harrogate district as the location for its new showroom.

Delcor has moved into premises at Oakwood Park Business Centre near Ripley as it looks to launch new stores in key locations across the UK following the success of its current operations and growing demand for its products.

The company has been manufacturing hand-crafted furniture since the mid-1960s from its showroom and manufacturing base at Seaton Delaval near the Northumberland coast.

The company also has a branch in Altrincham, Cheshire.

Among its boasts are that all its products are completely British-made, being manufactured at its Northumberland base.

Director Janet Petini identified Oakwood Park as a perfect location for the new showroom.

She said: “We enjoy beautiful surroundings, and being at Oakwood Park means we benefit from free parking for our customers.

“What’s more, we’re a one minute drive from Ripley and within easy reach of Harrogate.

“We also hope to attract customers from the larger conurbations of Leeds and Bradford.

“We’re confident that our beautiful ‘British-made’ bespoke furniture will attract property owners both locally and regionally.”

Delcor’s main focus is on settees, divans and chairs in a range of designs and coverings.

Every piece of furniture is bespoke and can be assembled at home so clients can mix and match to suit their own individual needs and room design.

There are more than 10,000 fabrics to choose form and the classic William Morris print is a particular favourite this year.

The company says it takes pride in having numerous returning customers, who it describes as “the rock on which the business is founded”.

Delcor is the second home furnishings business to open at Oakwood Park. Last year, Sofas & Stuff opened its Yorkshire showroom at the location.
