A Harrogate hotel has been voted the best outside London for the third year running in the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards 2015.
Rudding Park Hotel, Spa & Golf took the prestigious gong, based solely on visitors’ reviews and opinions posted on the travel guide website.
Peter Banks, managing director at Rudding Park, said: “Winning this award for the third year running and maintaining our position in the top three best hotels in the UK for nine consecutive years is a tremendous achievement.
“This third place was achieved with a 98.2 per cent guest satisfaction score, the highest amongst the top three hotels.
We’ve had a fantastic start to the year, with the TripAdvisor award and last week we were voted the Best Golf Hotel in the UK by LateRooms.com so I am extremely proud of every member of our team.”
Meanwhile, a bed-and-breakfast in Masham beat global competition in the same awards, when it was named the world’s best B&B.
Millgate B&B took top place in the World’s Top 10 B&Bs after receiving more than 350 excellent reviews on the TripAdvisor website. Last year it took ninth place.
Sue Burrell, who owns the hotel with husband Andrew, said: “We’re thrilled to be named the number one B&B in the world.
“The fact that this award stems from our guests’ feedback makes it even more special, because the reviews we’ve received on TripAdvisor have really helped our business thrive.”
Barbara Messing, chief marketing officer for TripAdvisor, said the site’s community of millions of travellers had helped it to highlight some of very best hotels from around the world.
“The Travellers’ Choice list of thousands of award-winning properties is perfect to inspire travellers as they think about their 2015 travel plans,” she said.
“From opulent luxury hotels to budget-friendly B&Bs, those looking for an accommodation can research, compare prices and book a Travellers’ Choice property on TripAdvisor, or any other hotel that meets their travel needs.”
