The story is a combination of historical novel, alternate history and contemporary thriller and tells the story of Guy Fawkes and the Gunpowder Plot, through the eyes of the men and women involved.

And it mixes real life events with a few twists along the way, explained Tony who, at the age of 50, took a year from work to write the novel.

“There is every reason to believe Guy Fawkes did cross the bridge and like all the residents in the town I’m looking forward to following in his footsteps before the end of the year,” said Tony.

All profits from the book, available from Amazon, in 2016 are going to Tadcaster Flood Support and Fundraising Group and Save the Children.

“Having seen the damage caused by the Boxing Day floods and subsequent bridge collapse in Tadcaster, I wanted to support the great work going on in the town.
