STAFF from Masham’s Black Sheep Brewery have taken part in a 17 mile charity bike ride, raising more than £600 for local charities.

The group joined the 25th North Riding Dales, Licensed Victuallers Association (LVA) bike ride.

They were followed along the way by 86-year-old Ralph Daykin, landlord of the Victoria Arms in Worton, near Askrigg, who is one of the oldest licensees in the country and has helped at the annual event since it began 25 years ago.

The ride sees members of the Dales LVA enter teams to ride 17 miles from Hawes to Leyburn raising money to be shared between charities in Wensleydale and Swaledale including the Great North Air Ambulance, Friarage Hospital in Northallerton, Bainbridge Ambulance Station, Yorkshire Air Ambulance and doctors’ surgeries in the Dales.
