Santa’s Sleigh: Boroughbridge Lions’ Santa’s sleigh is visiting Minskip and Aldborough this evening and tomorrow it will be on Ladywell Road, Springfield Road, St James Meadow and Church Lane. The Christmas route finishes on Saturday when the sleigh will be at Morrisons.

Roecliffe carol singing: carol singing around the village takes place tomorrow evening. Please meet at the church gates at 7pm with warm clothes and a torch.

Aldborough Carol Singing: takes place tomorrow evening, meeting outside the Ship Inn at 7.30pm. For more details please ring Jane Barber on 01423 325808 or email Please wrap up warmly and bring a torch.

Beer, Bethlehem and Carols: takes place tomorrow evening at the Blue Bell, Kirby Hill.

Church Services: Minskip has its carols and Christingle service tomorrow at 7pm, followed by mulled wine and mince pies in the church. On Sunday there is Holy Communion at Aldborough at 8.30am with carol services at St James Church, Boroughbridge at 4pm and at Dunsforth at 6.30pm. Dunsforth’s candlelit carol service, a real family event, is followed by festive Christmas drinks. Also on Sunday there is a Family Carol Service at Skelton at 9.30am, a Carol Service at Kirby Hill at 11am and Carols by Candlelight at Cundall at 6.30pm. Cundall’s carol service is followed by mince pies and mulled wine. On Christmas Eve there is Crib and Christingle at St James Church at 4pm, a carol service at Aldborough at 6.30pm and Midnight Communion at St James Church at 11.30pm. Also on Christmas Eve there is Midnight Mass, the first Communion of Christmas at Kirby Hill at 11.30pm. On Christmas Day there are services of Parish Communion at Aldborough at 8.30am, Dunsforth at 9.30am, Roecliffe at 10am and Minskip at 11am with Christmas Worship at St James Church at 10am. There are services of Holy Communion at Kirby Hill at 8am, Skelton at 9.30am and Holy Communion with carols at Cundall at 11am.
