Pantomime: the Hightimers’ production of Dick Whittington starts this evening in the Coronation Hall. There are performances this evening, tomorrow and on Saturday, then next Thursday, Friday and Saturday, all at 7.30pm with matinees at 2.30pm on the Saturdays. Quiz: Boroughbridge Allotment Society is hosting a quiz tomorrow evening at Boroughbridge Social Club, doors open at 7.30pm and the quiz starts at 8pm. St James Christmas Fair: St James Church is holding its Christmas Fair on Saturday at 10am with something for everyone. There are various stalls with cakes, provisions, Christmas decorations, cards and books. There will also be the grand raffle and tombola with refreshments served. In addition, a soup and sweet lunch will follow the fair.
Woodworking Demonstration: the John Boddy Timber Store in Boroughbridge has a free demonstration tomorrow with Simon Whitehead on woodturning. Late Night Opening: Boroughbridge holds its Christmas late night opening event on Wednesday from 5pm till late with attractions throughout the town. The event will appeal to all ages with a Santa’s grotto, new for this year, on Hall Square.
Winter Concert: there is a winter concert in St Andrew’s Church in Aldborough next Thursday, December 5 at 7pm. This is a candlelit concert of seasonal and other music with St Aidan’s Chamber Choir. Christmas Tree Festival: Boroughbridge and District Community Care invites you to its annual Christmas tree festival in St James Church, Boroughbridge next weekend, Saturday December 7 from 10am-4pm and Sunday December 8 from 10am-3.45pm. The admission charge is £1 with children under 12 admitted free with an accompanying adult. There will also be a prize tombola and refreshments. The festival is followed by carols on the Square on Hall square on Sunday, December 8 at 4pm. There will be a torchlit procession with Father Christmas from the church at 3.45pm.
