Sequence Dance: there is a sequence dance at the Coronation Hall on Saturday from 7-10.30pm. The admission charge is £2 which includes tea and biscuits.
Boroughbridge Junior Football: find out what the future holds for girls’ and women’s football in the Boroughbridge area during an information evening held by Boroughbridge Junior Football Club on Tuesday in the Boroughbridge High School Sports Centre, starting at 7.30pm. The club is looking for girls to form a football team, or teams, for the 2013-14 season, please come along and find out how the club is developing the girls’ game locally, where you or your child can play and how you can help and get involved. The club would like to hear from you if you are enthusiastic and passionate about developing the girls’ game, no experience is required.
Boroughbridge Historical Society: the Historical Society holds its next meeting on Tuesday when David Hunt of Knaresborough will talk about the history of Scriven. Amblers: have a four mile walk at Pateley Bridge on Wednesday, led by Pat and Jim Smith. Please meet in the car park in Back Lane for a 10am start. Latin All Around Us: Minskip village hall has an exciting new course starting next Friday, February 15. With tutor Gillian Hovell BA (Hons), a local author, you can learn to decode Latin phrases and mottoes and discover how English is full of echoes of Ancient Rome using Latin that’s all around us. The course is from 7.15-9.15pm from February 15 to March 15 with five starter or starter lessons £45. This will be a friendly, sociable, interactive and richly illustrated course, it’s not just Latin, it’s an evening out. No prior knowledge is needed, there are no tests, just fun and discovery. WI : the Aldborough, Boroughbridge and Dunsforth WI meets on Wednesday in Aldborough Village Hall at 7.30pm. This month the group has an Indian Evening with Gilly and Chris as well as the AGM. The WI meets on the second Wednesday of each month.
