Harrogate isn't exactly overburdened with live concerts catering to the town's hard rock and metal community but a special event taking place this weekend will seek to address that - and raise money for two local charitites.
York-based hard rock band called Memorium, whose guitarist Ross Shipley has been a key player in organsing it, will be linking up at the Manhattan Club on Saturday, December 10 with Harrogate-based Black Sabbath tribute band Jack Sabbath.
Opening the concert at this venue off Leeds Road behind the new M&S will be the unfeasibly loud Eric Bana who have close links to one of the charities.
Proceeds will go to Saint Michael's Hospice and Fighting Ependymoma.
The latter is the official trading name of The Chris Bramhall Children's Brain Tumour Research Charity.
Chris Bramhall was a local lad who tragically died aged 21, after spending many years fighting the disease.
The Bramhall family subsequently set up the charity in his memory, and his brother, Jamie Bramhall is a member of the opening band, Eric Bana.
