Top music for StrEat Food Festival at Newby Hall

Brilliant DJs, top music, great street food, lots of drink and glamping and, oh, a beautiful setting, a new-three day festival at Newby Hall has it all.

The even grander sister festival to the hugely popular one at Valley Gardens, the StrEat Food and Family Fun Festival will take place from September 22-24 at Newby Hall and gardens near Ripon.

Friday night will be Dance Night with BBC Radio DJ Scott Mills, supported by Thrill Collins, a goodtime three-piece acoustic skiffle party band.

Saturday will be Pop Night starring one of the UK’s best boy bands Five, with suport from the Voodoo Love Orchestra.

The final night, Sunday will be Funk n Soul Night headlined by New Yorker Huey Morganof BBC 6 Music DJ and Fun Lovin Criminals fame, with support by the fabulous Cantaloop Sunday.

The new festival follows the succes of StrEat Food and Family Fun Festival two years running in the Valley Gardens in Harrogate.

Organiser, Harrogate businesswoman Cathy McConaghy herself describes the event at Newby Hall as “the destination food and fun festival for the family to discover.”

The event will see craft beer teepees serving craft ales and lagers from The Great Yorkshire Brewery in Pickering, plus Pimms Lawn, Vines Wine Bar, The Angel Share Mobile Gin Bar and cocktail bars.

There’s plenty of family fun, including the Naughty Tea Ladies, Jean and Morag, brewing up a storm around the gardens on their specially-adapted tricycles.

An Artisan Market will also feature some 30 producers with handpicked products

And StrEat’s Glamping Village will feature hot tubs to book for private parties followed by a campfire chill-out.
