The generations came together across the Ripon and Boroughbridge area on Sunday to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in armed conflict.
Remembrance Sunday events in Ripon began at the Spa Gardens where a ceremony and two minutes’ silence were held at 11am.
It was followed by a parade through the city, which included members of Ripon’s 21 Engineer Regiment, to Ripon Cathedral where a service lasting around an hour was held.
In Boroughbridge, a service was held at a packed out St James’ Church from 9.45am followed by a parade to the war memorial on Hall Square where a crowd, estimated to be more than 1,000 people, attended a short service of dedication, reading of the names of the fallen and wreath-laying at 11am.
