The annual Nidderdale clay pigeon shoot will be raising money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance this weekend.

The UP Dale Shoot will be held at Middlesmoor from 11am on Saturday, June 16.

Shooters can compete for the Ramsgill Challenge Trophy (open to residents of Stonebeck Up, Stonebeck Down, Fountains Earth, High Bishopside and Bewerley), the Geoff Ward Memorial Trophy (open to residents of Stonebeck Up, Stonebeck Down and Fountains Earth), the Ramsgill Open Challenge Cup for the highest scoring junior member, the Ashby and Heaton Cup, Sportsman’s Arms Trophy, Crown Middlesmoor Shield, Stuart Cannon Trophy, Open Ladies Trophy, the Open Pool Shoot (£25 prize) and the Les Ashby Open Trophy.

No plastic wads are allowed. Side by side guns only for local trophies, with both under and over and side by side for the open shoots. Hot food will be available.

Entry for adults is £15, and £10 for re-entry. Children cost £10 for the first entry and £5 for re-entry.

The event has been organised by the Nidderdale Clay Pigeon League. All proceeds will go to the air ambulance, which serves five million people and carries out more than 1,300 missions every year. The charity needs to raise £12,000 every day to keep its two, state-of-the-art helicopters flying.
