Ripon Olympic torchbearer Lena Conlin has visited Ripon area primary schools to tell the story of her experience carrying the flame.

Thousands watched and cheered as Lena carried the Olympic flame through Ripon Market Place when it came through the city on Tuesday, June 19.

Soon after her experience, Lena began visiting schools in the area to give children a chance to encounter the historic torch and to tell them about her moment as a torchbearer.

So far, she has visited Ripon’s Greystone Primary as well as Snape and Thornton Watlass primary schools.

Lena was nominated for her voluntary work with a youth theatre group as well as fundraising activities.

Her next challenge will be a gruelling iron man triathlon to raise money for the Stroke Association. To sponsor Lena go to {www. justgiving.com/Lena-Conlin0|her online sponsorship page|Lena Conlin on justgiving.com}
