Smart new football kits for Boroughbridge Under 15s thanks to ASDA
A Boroughbridge junior football team can play future games with pride after a kind hearted donation towards new kit from ASDA.
The supermarket chain granted Boroughbridge Juniors FC under 15s boys £500 funding for new shirts, shorts and socks.
Organised through the community team at the Harrogate ASDA store on Bower Road the kit is funded by ASDA Foundation, the retailer’s charity arm which supports community initiatives across the UK. The sponsorship sees the team wear the ASDA Foundation logo on their team kit.
The under 15s’ team, which competes in the Harrogate and District Junior Football League, has grown recently and now has a squad of 15 players drawn from Boroughbridge and surrounding towns.
Community champion at ASDA Harrogate, Angela Smith, said: “We are delighted to support Boroughbridge Juniors by helping them look as professional and smart as they can on and off the pitch. As a national company with a store in Harrogate and employees living and working in the area, we are pleased to lend our support to community activities through the ASDA Foundation.
“Whether it is helping, charities, local good causes or community activity, all make a real difference to your local community. Sport is so important to young people and local grassroots clubs play a key role in keeping kids fit and engaged.”
Boroughbridge Juniors FC chairman, Chris Fahy, said the players would be delighted with their new kits from ASDA and he added: “Without the support of the community and sponsorship from organisations like ASDA Foundation we wouldn’t have such a thriving club.”
