New shop opens in Harrogate town centre after major renovation
A 'new' shop which is proud to excel at tea has opened in Harrogate town centre after a major six month renovation.
After an extensive six-month renovation, True Tea Co has opened the doors of its new tea shop at 6 Commercial Street after moving next door to Stothard's Pet Store, which closed earlier this year.
The shop's founder Matthew Doust said: "As an independent, we soldiered through lockdown providing click and collect, home deliveries and an online mail order service to customers from Harrogate all the way to Abu Dhabi, Israel, USA and Australia.
"Our new shop also has a tea bag machine in the back so we can now produce tea bags directly in-store.
"And customers can choose from more than 150 speciality teas for takeaway to go."
True Tea Company was originally founded in 2017 in the medieval city of York, North Yorkshire.
It originally began as a tea subscription company, formally known as True Tea Club, which sent out different teas each month to subscribers across the globe.
It's growing success led it in 2018 to become more than a subscription service and to provide tea for retail and wholesale.
In November 2019, it then opened it first retail store at 8 Commercial Street in Harrogate.
It is now stocked by Michelin Starred Restaurants, local cafe's, delis and hotels and also attends monthly Farmer's Markets and important local events.
The new version of the shop will offer an extensive range of loose tea, tea bags and more with a pledge from True Tea Co that it "sources and supplies the world's best tea."
True Tea Co now has more than 370 4-5 Star Trust Pilot reviews and will be open six days a week from Monday to Saturday (9am-4pm).
