Latest new restaurant opens in Harrogate
And the newest newcomer aims to prove that Harrogate isn’t too posh for burgers.
Launching this week at the site of the demolished Beales department is Byron, part of a national chain of nearly 50 outlets which proudly proclaims itself to be ‘bringing proper hamburgers to Harrogate.’

Hide AdThe new addition to the town’s now bulging dining out sector officially throws open its doors to the public from today, Thursday within the grand, modern facade of a £10 million development at 5 Albert Street.
In total, the restaurant says, more than 30 new jobs will be created, including roles across managerial, kitchen and front of house teams, both full and part time.
Byron Harrogate is also making a splash next Wednesday night with an exclusive, invitation-only craft beer evening.
The preview event will serve up what Byron is already best known for - proper hamburgers and fries as remembered fondly from college days in the United States at the dawn of this now globally popular dish.

Hide AdJointly hosted with Vocation Brewery, Byron Harrogate will be matching its menu with a selection of craft beers from near and far, exploring perfect pairings.
Byron was founded by Tom Byng in 2007 with the mission of serving proper hamburgers made from four cuts of properly sourced British beef, ground fresh, cooked medium so it’s pink and juicy, and served in a squishy bun with minimum fuss and fanfare.
Byron’s menu, created by head chef Fred Smith, aim sto keep thing simple with a range of burgers, moreish sides and homemade desserts, plus a regularly-changing special– currently a football-inspired hamburger - Byronaldo.
The drinks list includes Byron’s carefully chosen selection of craft beers, including the locally brewed Heart & Soul, from Vocation Brewery, a Hebden Bridge-based microbrewery which specialises in modern, hop-forward beers, with bold and distinctive flavours.

Hide AdCustomers can also choose to wash down their hamburger with a selection of bourbons, Byron’s thick milkshakes and hard shakes, and craft sodas.
Paul Lancaster, managing director of 4Urban Consultants, the group behind 5 Albert Street, said Byron was part of a drive to bring great drives to the town.
“We have said from the out set we are going to raise the bar in Harrogate and we are delivering on that.”
Burger fans might like to note that to celebrate the opening of the restaurant, Byron will be offering diners hamburgers for just 25p next Tuesday, June 28 from 5pm to 10pm in support of Byron’s charity partner, One Feeds Two ®, who provide a school meal for a child in need for every burger sold.*
