High hopes for Ripon’s floral displays

Ripon in Bloom’s volunteeers have great hopes after two visits from the judges.

Ripon In Bloom volunteer Brenda Anderson said the groups had “great hopes of doing well” after the second round of judging which saw Yorkshire in Bloom visit Ripon on Friday, July 13.

The judges were shown some of the city’s floral highlights including the racecourse, the marina, the Spa Gardens and Gallow Hill allotments, and were particularly interested in the gardens at Holy Trinity Junior School and the Workhouse Gardens.

The results will be announced at an awards lunch in September this year.
