Anyone who needs urgent care out of surgery hours, should phone NHS 111. For an urgent but non-life-threatening medical issue, check online and visit an urgent care centre.

Leave plenty of time to order repeat prescriptions so that you have enough medicine.

Keep it or cancel it. Up to 10 per cent of appointments are lost due to patients not attending or not cancelling unwanted appointments in advance. Please cancel your appointment in good time if you no longer need it.

Helen Quiney, Service Delivery Lead at Wetherby Surgery said: “Easter can be an extremely busy time for our surgery and for our local hospitals’ emergency departments, especially with the added pressure of Covid-19

“While we hope that the residents Wetherby have a wonderful, healthy Easter, we are asking everyone to be as prepared as possible by following our advice.

“Make sure you have enough medicine to keep well, know what local services are available when your GP is closed, and cancel unwanted appointments so we can allocate them to other patients.

“We remain open to all registered patients, but if you have symptoms of Covid-19 including a dry, continuous cough, high temperature or a loss or change to your senses of smell and taste, please stay at home and call 111 for medical advice.”

Registered patients eligible for Covid-19 vaccinations will be contacted directly over the phone or by post to invite them to a scheduled appointment. Patients are asked not to contact the surgery directly to request an appointment for vaccination.
