5. Ian Coates
Ian Coates from Bewerley Park Outdoor Centre has given up his usual day job to deliver prescriptions to those who are self-isolating in Nidderdale.
He is now helping the GP surgeries and pharmacies to provide the essential service to those who are not able to get out and pick up their medication for themselves, even though they may desperately need it.
6. Velton Lishke
Velton Lishke is a waste collector for Harrogate Borough Council and has been working tirelessly during the pandemic to ensure that rubbish is still collected and Harrogates bins are not overflowing so the streets are still clean.
He says he has been overwhelmed by the kindness shown by residents who have left notes of thanks on their bins and waved from the window.
7. Sarah Jordan
Sarah Jordan is owner of the Red Strength Gym in Knaresborough - but while her gym is closed during the coronavirus crisis, she has refused to give up work and has joined a Harrogate care home, working 14-hour days to care for elderly and vulnerable residents.
She said she wanted to give something back to the community during these difficult times.
8. Julia Lightfoot
Julia Lightfoot, Befriending and Activities Manager at Supporting Older People, has had a slight change of role during the pandemic - but she has still been working tirelessly to support elderly residents.
She has been involved in a new project with Waitrose and the Round Table to make up food parcels and deliver essential items to elderly and vulnerable people in the district who are self-isolating.
