Youngsters plant trees

Children from the Foundation Unit at Moorside Infant School, Ripon, have been creating a new copse with over 30 free trees donated by the Woodland Trust and Ripon in Bloom.

“The trees will provide much needed habitats for the local mini beast and bird population, and shade and a teaching resource for the children.” said Mrs Taylor-Connor, Teaching Assistant who promotes Outdoor Learning.

“At the moment the trees are only very small, but the children will be excitedly looking out in the spring.”

She added her thanks to Mr Taylor who helped to dig the holes and with the tree planting, and to the Woodland Trust and Mrs Gloria Stokes from Ripon in Bloom for the trees.
