GCSE RESULTS: Outwood Academy Ripon
Outwood Academy Ripon has said it is once again delighted for its students after they achieved an “excellent” set of results at GCSE.
Of those students taking the exams, 92 per cent achieved or exceeded their expected grades in English, with 80 per cent of students achieving A*-C grades.
In maths, 81 per cent achieved or exceeded their expected grade with 73 per cent achieving an A*-C grade.
Principal Angela Sweeten said: “These are fabulous results for our students and I want to thank them, their parents/carers and all of the staff at the academy.
“I am delighted that 61 per cent of students achieved the very difficult new performance measure of 5+ A*-C including GCSE English, maths and now a further GCSE with only a maximum of two vocational results counting.
“These results reflect the hard work of everyone involved and I wish all of our students every success in the future”

Students who performed particularly well were Ruben Russell who achieved an A* in chemistry and physics and an A in biology and maths. Ruben also achieved full marks for physics; Joe Gallazzi, who achieved A grades in chemistry, physics and maths; and Jessica Rogers who achieved A grades in food technology, English literature, and physics, and four B grades.
