Almost nine out of ten school children secure first choice secondary school in North Yorkshire
As many as 95 per cent of all North Yorkshire children that requested a school place have received an offer from one of their top three preferences of secondary school.
North Yorkshire County Council said the figures this week continued on the high percentages of students securing top three places recent years.

Hide AdCounty Councillor Arthur Barker, North Yorkshire’s executive member for schools, said: “It is good news that once again so many of our families have gained the first preference from their choice of schools.
“As a local authority, we work with schools across the county to make sure all of them deliver the highest standards of education, so families who are not given first preferences will nevertheless be increasingly able to send their children to good schools.”
This year’s cohort of North Yorkshire pupils transferring to secondary school was 6,105.
