Bugatti is only building 500 examples of its latest Chiron hypercar. Given that and the £2.5 million price tag, it’s fair to say most of us won’t get close to owning one. But, thanks to Lego, we can have the next best thing.

The construction toy firm has just launched the latest model in its Technic range and it’s a 1:8 scale model of the French hypercar.

Lego Bugatti Chiron

Measuring nearly two feet in length the Lego Technic Bugatti Chiron is the result of endless hours of study and development by Lego’s engineers to create a true-to-life replica of the Chiron.

The £329.99 kit comes with 3,600 pieces to capture the details of the Chiron, from its wind tunnel-honed bodywork to spoked alloy wheels, movable paddle-shift gearbox and W16 engine complete with moving pistons.

The model also features an active rear wing and a “speed key” which, just like the real thing, allows owners to switch the wing’s position between handling and top speed settings.

Inside, the Chiron’s cockpit is recreated in bricks, with the working gearshift and steering wheel carrying the Bugatti logo. Each model even comes with a Lego recreation of the exclusive Bugatti overnight bag in the boot.

Each individual model comes personalised with its own unique serial number and is packaged in a “luxurious” display box complete with “coffee table” instruction book. Sadly, they won’t come with the real thing’s 2.5-second 0-62mph time.
