Lidl reveal new Harrogate store plans with pledge of jobs boost
The multi-million pound investment will redevelop the site of the former Lookers car dealership on Knaresborough Road.

Hide AdLidl’s proposals for a modern, spacious supermarket will create around 40 new full and part-time jobs for the local economy.
The new Lidl store would have a 1,263m2 sales area, an in-store bakery, customer toilets and 94 car parking spaces including disabled, parent & child spaces and rapid electric vehicle charging points.
Lidl’s regional property director, Robert Beaumont, commented: “We have been looking forward to bringing a new store to Harrogate for a while and the former Lookers site is a great location.
"We are extremely excited about the prospect of opening our first Lidl in the area and serving our fresh, quality and incredibly good value produce to the local community.

The public are invited to comment on the proposals via a dedicated website www.lidl-harrogate.co.uk and through a leaflet which is being delivered to properties in the area.

Hide AdThe new supermarket forms part of the company’s £1.45bn investment in its expansion across Great Britain in 2019 and 2020. Its ongoing success shows no signs of slowing, with the latest Kantar Worldpanel results highlighting Lidl’s increase in sales year on year and market share of 6.1%.
