The new Berwins 500 challenge will give the fastest man and woman the opportunity to walk away with a cash prize of up to £500.

Berwins, which has offices in Harrogate and Leeds, will split the cash prize between the first man who breaks 31 minutes and the first woman who beats 34 minutes at the 10k event on Sunday, July 24.

If both times are matched then the prize will be split, but if one runner does not make the time, the full £500 will be awarded to the person who does.

Runners are being invited to step up to the challenge at the Great Yorkshire Run – Harrogate, in association with Theakston, which has moved to Harrogate as part of its 10th anniversary celebrations.

Seven members of staff from Berwins have also signed up to form a team to run the event and will provide marshals to help through the day.

Berwins will be raising funds for housing charity Shelter, a charity that helps millions of people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness through, support, advice and legal services.

Paul Berwin, managing partner at Berwins Solicitors, said: “Berwins are huge supporters of sport in Harrogate; and we love running in and around this beautiful home town of ours.

“We’re excited to see who can rise to the Berwins 500 Challenge amongst those heading the field at the Great Yorkshire Run – Harrogate, in association with Theakston.”
