Harrogate mental health hospital gets good rating
Cygnet Health Care said it is delighted that the Care Quality Commission (CQC) has rated Cygnet Hospital Harrogate, a long-established mental health hospital providing emergency admissions service, as ‘good’.
The report praised the commitment of staff at Cygnet Hospital Harrogate for providing patient-centred care and for the fact that they ‘supported patients to make informed decisions about their care’.
The team was also commended for providing ‘holistic, recovery-orientated care plans’ and the emotional support and advice they give to patients.
The CQC report highlighted the kind, respectful and collaborative nature of the care given by staff, who ‘worked well as a multidisciplinary team’.
It was noted that patients spoke very positively of the staff, commenting that they were “compassionate” and “caring” and were ‘invested in patients’ wellbeing.
Cygnet Hospital Harrogate’s further education initiatives were also recognised.
The report referenced that staff were given the time ‘to consider opportunities for improvements and innovation’, which ‘led to changes’ and these have been beneficial for the overall level of care offered by the Hospital.
Martin Graham, Hospital Manager, said: “It’s a pleasure to see the dedication of all the team at Harrogate recognised in this report, which showcases the kind and respectful nature of the care provided. Mental health difficulties can affect one in four people, which is why we remain committed to continually learning and innovating to ensure our service makes a positive difference to people’s lives.”
