Harrogate cafes are to open again after Tier 2 move announcement by Government

Several independent cafes the Harrogate Advertiser talked to today said the rules of Tier 2 - which kick in from next Thursday in Harrogate - meant they could now reopen for sit-in customers - within the limits of the Government's new national guidelines.

Hide AdPhil and Helen Dolby, who first took over the popular Bean & Bud cafe on Commercial Street in Harrogate in 2018, and have featured in the Advertiser's #supportourindies campaign, said:
"We will be opening for sit-down and a takeaway service from next Wednesday, December 2.
"Under Tier 2 people can sit in, but are not allowed to mix households. Hopefully the slightly stricter rules going from tier 1 to 2 will not have too much impact on us, and that the good people of Harrogate will continue to support us and other local businesses in a sensible but positive way."

After opening its new Bakeri Baltzersen bakers shop along from its original cafe on Oxford Street in Harrogate in early October, this week has seen the award-winning independent open another Bakeri in Knaresborough to instant success.
When the new Bakeri opened , it sold out in two hours on Wednesday and two and a half hours today.
Sara Ferguson, who co-owns both Marconi cafe and Sasso restaurant on Princes Square in Harrogate, said both her independent businessses would be reopening.
