A taste of Cornwall: New Cornish Bakery to open its doors in Harrogate town centre offering award-winning freshly baked goods

Cornish Bakery is an eat-in or take-out bakery with Cornish roots, offering award-winning freshly baked pasties, cakes, bakes and much more.

Located on James Street, the new bakery will occupy a beautiful 19th century property which was originally the home of Paperchase before it closed in May.

The new Cornish Bakery has retained some striking original features from the building, including the gilded columns and stained-glass windows.

The original cast iron canopy has been left in its natural black colour and the Cornish Bakery signage has been designed to match.

Steve Grocutt, founder and owner of Cornish Bakery, said: “We are delighted to be opening our Cornish Bakery in the beautiful spa town of Harrogate.

"We are on a constant journey to redefine what a bakery is, does and what it can be, and we therefore build all our bakeries differently.

"We have taken on this historic Harrogate property, uncovering some interesting features within it that will be showcased in the beautiful interior.

"We also believe a bakery should be part of the community so our newly employed team will be actively seeking opportunities to work with local organisations in the Harrogate area.

“It is the perfect breakfast, lunch or afternoon stop for shoppers, visitors and residents and Bakery Manager Stephen and his team are ready to welcome you.”

Cornish Bakery will open its doors on Monday, October 31 and will be open every day from 8am till 6pm.
