An impressive singer who plays a residency twice weekly at Harrogate Brasserie has released a new single.
Nicki Allan, who was the inaugural winner of the Jazz Yorkshire’s best vocalist in 2010, wrote the folk-inspired, easy listening pop song Love’s A Lonely Traveller herself.
An accessible and versatile jazz and pop singer who oozes quality, the new song comes complete with a well-produced video combining a romantic storyline with staged concert footage - shot partly in the Harrogate Brasserie itself!
Nicki, who is the principal voice coach at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, also fronts her own jazz sextet.
Fans at the Brasserie will tell you her live performances see her veering from swing classics by the likes of Cole Porter to more recent soul and pop songs and the occasional track by acoustic singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell.
The video to Love’s A Lonely Traveller can be seen on YouTube now.
Nicki Allan plays Harrogate Brasserie each Wednesday and Thursday night.
