The Knaresborough Players present their latest production this weekend - and it’s sure to be a highlight of the town’s feva Festival.

Directed by the Players’ chairman David Crosthwaite, Guys and Dolls is packed full of great songs such as Luck Be a Lady Tonight.

Originally premiered on Broadway in 1950.with music and lyrics by Frank Loesser and book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows, the show is set in 1940s low-life New York.

Famously starring Marlon Brando, Jean Simmons and Frank Sinatra on the big screen, this witty and lively musical tells the story of two couples finding love in a world of gamblers who live on their wits to survive. Much of the plotline derives from two short stories by Damon Runyon.

For the Knaresborough Players’ production, the musical director is Will Lynch while the choreographer is Viv Hall.

Key cast members include Mark Hall playing Sky Masterson, Bekah Corrin playing Sarah Brown, Howard Corrin playing Nathan Detroit and Beth Metcalfe playing Miss Adelaide. Following Saturday night’s premiere at 7.30pm, the Players’ production will then run from Thursday, August 22 -Saturday, August 24.

Tickets are available in person from The Old Chemist Shop in the Market Place, Knaresborough or by telephoning Howard on 01423 867901 or book online at www.WeGotTickets.com
