The organisers of Knaresborough’s recent Bedfest have another ace live music event up their sleeve - Frightfest!

Once again taking place at Henshaws Arts and Crafts Centre, this Halloween charity event will feature two stages of local music plus Kerrang favourites Hawk Eyes.

Hotfoot from a European tour with System of a Down, this blistering Yorkshire four-piece also appeared recently on the Lock Up Stage at Leeds and Reading Festivals while promoting their new EP, That’s What This Is.

Organiser Rufus Beckett, formerly bassist/singer and songwriter in Harrogate band The Four 45s, said he was excited to have secured such a brilliant band for the show on Saturday, October 26.

“Hawk Eyes have been getting rave reviews in Kerrang for the last couple of years so it’s something of a coup for Knaresborough and, even ,Harrogate.

“Bedfest was a great success as a free event but, because of this, this we are going to be charging for tickets; a very reasonable £6.50 . All profits will go to the charity Henshaws.”

Hawk Eyes originally emerged from the Leeds underground DIY metal and hardcore scene of the mid-Noughties.

Led by vocalist/guitarist Paul Astick, this lively, noisy mob really go for it live, according to website Daily Dischord.

After a promising official debut album Modern Bodies released in 2010 through Brew Records, Hawk Eyes’ second album, 2012’s Ideas received high praise from the rock press including 5Ks in Kerrang.

The band were also nominated for Best Newcomer at the Kerrang awards the same year.

Running from 4pm-11pm, Frightfest will offer a great chance for local acts to shine on both the band stage and acoustic stage.

Among the support acts announced so far are Oscilantern, Crave, Red Ocean Nectar, Biz Denton, James Sant, According To Eve and Tom Peacock with more to be unveiled.

Tickets will be available by phone on 01423541888 or in person from Henshaws Arts and Crafts Centre, from SPACE vintage shop in Harrogate and Pear records in Knaresborough.
